Zadok - Part 4 - Always Faithful To The Covenant, The King, And The Priesthood

Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

Zadok - Part 4 - Always Faithful To The Covenant, The King, And The Priesthood

“Now behold, Zadok also came, and all the Levites with him carrying the ark of the covenant of God. And they set down the ark of God. The king said to Zadok, ‘Return the ark of God to the city. If I find favor in the sight of the Lord, then He will bring me back again and show me both it and His habitation. See, I am going to wait at the fords of the wilderness until word comes from you to inform me.’ Therefore Zadok and Abiathar returned the ark of God to Jerusalem and remained there”

2 Samuel 15:24-29

Once again we see faithful Zadok being simultaneously faithful to the priesthood, the covenant, and the king - even as we are called, as the body of Christ in this day, to be simultaneously faithful to our King and High Priest, Jesus Christ, along with our faithfulness to our priesthood and the New Covenant.

In Zadok’s case, Absalom, David’s son, had usurped the throne from his father. David left the city of Jerusalem so, of course, Zadok followed his anointed king, David, bringing with him his priesthood and the ark of the covenant. There was no doubt whatsoever in Zadok’s mind concerning who he served and who was the real king.

When David instructed Zadok to return to Jerusalem, Zadok did it, always remaining completely and simply faithful to his king, covenant, and priesthood.

Our great blessing in the body of Christ, as God’s present day priesthood, is that the practice and understanding of our priesthood blessedly keeps us always aware of, and therefore faithful to, our own King, and new covenant, and priesthood.

We see throughout the Old Testament scriptures how highly regarded Zadok and the sons of Zadok are by God, and highly rewarded by God too, and this reflects directly towards our own obedience to God and blessing from Him as we highly regard Jesus Christ, our King and High Priest, and the New Covenant blood of our salvation, the precious blood of Christ.

Ministering to the Lord provides a most beautiful centering foundation for us towards the actual present reality of Jesus Christ and of our lives in Him and for Him! The practice of our priesthood is an anointing that keeps us faithful to God’s anointed One - to our King, covenant, and priesthood.

Yes, minister to God as a priest in His presence today, ever thankful for this blessing, to be so close with Him, and be ever thankful to have this awareness of your King, High Priest, and New Covenant- your presently reigning and indwelling Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!
