I Will Praise The Lord While I Live - Part 5

Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

I Will Praise The Lord While I Live - Part 5

“Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, o my soul! I will praise the Lord while I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being”

Psalm 146:1-2

Let us cultivate our hearts in and towards our Lord, the One Whom we are in constant fellowship with as we “sing praises” to our God “while I have my being,” which means all of the time, for the rest of our lives.

Thank God, we absolutely can and must cultivate our hearts in our Lord. This is our perfect right, our birth-right in fact in Christ, and it is a wonderful gift.

So, for a moment, think about how your heart is like a garden.

There may be all kinds of things going on in your heart as of right now, right?

There might be some good things, and there might be some not-so-good things.

There could be some rocks and there might be some thorns. But you absolutely can improve the garden of your heart.

It’s not going to be done all in one day. I couldn’t spring into my backyard, snap my fingers and have all the work instantaneously done.

It’s one stone, one thorn, one stick at a time, but you can cultivate your heart, perpetually in this direction.

The more you cultivate your heart towards and in your loving Lord God, the more you realize that there is nothing at all stopping you from rejoicing and being continuously blessed in this wonderfully declared life of praise to our God.

Keeping a watchful eye for stone, stick, and thorn removal from our hearts can only help you in your own personal realization of “How blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God.”

In other words, how blessed is the person who has trained his or her heart to allow God be their help, for God is “a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1).

The person who cultivates their heart, daily, to truly hope in the Lord, no matter how dark the storm clouds of life may look, is the person who has “joy unspeakable and full of glory” on the inside, just like Peter said (1 Peter 1:8). Why? Because we know God is our help and we’ve placed our full hope in Him. When we do this, with a cultivated heart of understanding, we are a blessed person. And nothing can take that away from us.

Yes, beloved of God, simply agree and decide today, “while I have my being,” that “I will praise the Lord while I live.” Hallelujah!
