“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all. Yet for this reason I found mercy”
1 Timothy 1:15-16
Have you found and received your mercy for today yet?
Through the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ we have received salvation. Mercy has been extended even to the self-confessed foremost sinner of all, the apostle Paul who, prior to his salvation, had persecuted and put to death Christians. Yet for this reason he was shown mercy, just so you and I would know for sure that we, too, are included in God’s grace and mercy.
Paul went on to stress this point, “so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life” (1 Tim. 1:16).
“Found mercy” is what God is offering you today. God, in His infinite love and mercy, has given us this demonstration in Paul’s life, for our benefit, that we would clearly see that our gracious Lord does not want to judge us but love us into salvation.
He has extended mercy even to the furthest out and away sinner, so we would clearly see, and understand, that He always desires to draw us to Himself, through His mercy.
Draw near to God now and find this mercy, His mercy, for you; this completely life-changing mercy, consistently and always available to you in “Christ Jesus.”
Remember, God has demonstrated His mercy in Paul’s life expressly so you would also receive this mercy for your life. So, bless your Lord today by humbly and joyfully finding His mercy for you. Hallelujah!
