Let Us Not Be “Dull Of Hearing” About Jesus Our High Priest

Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

Let Us Not Be “Dull Of Hearing” About Jesus Our High Priest

“Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things that He suffered. And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation, being designated by God as a high priest according to the order of Melchizadek. Concerning him we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing”

Hebrews 5:8-11, Psalm 110:4

Oh beloved child of God, let us never be and never become “dull of hearing” when it comes to the precise and complete truth of our salvation, of our Savior, of His New Covenant blood, and of His office as our “high priest forever according to the order of Melchizadek.”

Let us not become “dulled” to Jesus by all of the other things that people insist upon raising up these days, perhaps unknowingly, replacing our single eye focus upon Jesus (Hebrews 12:2) and therefore limiting our holy understanding of, “Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith” (Hebrews 12:2).

Let us not only not be “dull of hearing” but, rather, let us be pro-actively “all ears” when it comes to “all” that the New Testament has to say about Jesus Christ.

Let us develop highly attuned and sharpened “hearing,” particularly when it comes to our “eternal salvation” (Hebrews 5:9) bought for us and brought to us through our High Priest, Who has also said, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them” (John 10: 27-28).

Directly following Jesus, our Savior, Lord, and High Priest, as His Own saved, submitted, and “royal priesthood” (1st Peter 2:9), is completely and fully God honoring.

The truth of Who Jesus Christ is should not have to be “hard to say” to Christians. Let us stamp out the “dull of hearing” spiritual apathy towards Jesus which is rampant in the church and let us instead “run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes upon Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12: 1-2, Psalm 110:4).

Our Father in heaven, We ask in the Name of and for the sake of Your Son, our Savior, Lord, and High Priest, Jesus our Messiah; we pray for a true and honest and complete spiritual awakening within the body of Christ to You, Yourself, and all that Christ has done and has become for us, with understanding and yieldedness, worldwide, throughout all of Christendom, for Your Own glory and Name and purpose. May we all understand and exalt Jesus Christ our High Priest and His “New Covenant in My blood” (Luke 22:20) for all in the body of Christ to see, obey, be blessed in, and become transformed by. In Jesus’ Name we pray this. Amen.

Meet with your High Priest today, praise Him and show Him that you are definitely not “dull of hearing” about Jesus Christ our “priest forever according to the order of Melchizadek.” Hallelujah!
