Ministering To God With Our Priesthood

Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

Ministering To God With Our Priesthood

“To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood - and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father”

Revelation 1:5-6

This Scripture is all one sentence. One sentence that beautifully ties together Jesus’ love for us, His releasing us from our sins by His blood, and His making us a kingdom of Priests to His God and Father.

Jesus Christ, in His mercy and grace, has loved us, saved us, and made us to be priests to our God.

With the Gospel we minister to this world. With the priesthood we minister to God!

What a privilege we have been given, to be called and created by God to experience this holy priesthood unto Him Himself!

This is a divine invitation, really, for us to enter God’s presence, that we may ultimately become completely enveloped by His presence in worship, being filled with Him Himself so that, even as the apostle Peter declared, “times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:19).

This is the “inner court” of the Old Testament, living within us now, as we have become “living temple” children of God in our Savior’s New Covenant.

Paul famously asked the Corinthian church “Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the spirit of God dwells in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16).

As priests unto our God we surely do know that we have become a temple of God: with His presence within as our “Holy of Holies,” His Gospel within as our “outer court” ministry to this world, and our priesthood to God within as our “inner court” resting place, where we minister to our loving Lord in peace and joy.

Receive this truth of your priesthood today and begin acquainting yourself with this most blessed call of your Savior to come and minister unto the Lord. Hallelujah!
