You Will Be Spoken Of As Ministers Of Our God
Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners; to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord... But you will be called the priests of the Lord; you will be spoken of as ministers of our God... And I will faithfully give them their recompense and make an everlasting covenant with them” Isaiah 61:1-2, 6, 8
My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, there is only one way possible for us to be “spoken of as ministers of our God” in this day and that is for us to actually be, and practice being, “ministers of our God.”
Let us speak of ourselves, amongst ourselves, in the body of Christ, as being “ministers of our God.” Let us tell others that we are “ministers of our God.” Let us encourage people to become “the priests of our Lord.”
But first, before we tell anyone else, let us go before our Lord God, our “Lord” and “priest forever” (Psalm 110:1&4), Jesus Christ, and thank Him that “He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father” (Revelation 1:6). Let us humbly and gratefully tell our God, first, in His Own presence, that we are thankful to be “ministers of our God” and, then, let us remain in God’s presence that we may minister to our Lord (Acts 13:2).
This is a great gift, our priesthood to God, which our Lord has given to the body of Christ, that we may experience such closeness and protection with our Lord in His presence. This grace has come to us through our being made “a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (2nd Peter 2:9). It is as we minister to our Lord in His presence that we are more greatly enabled to behold “the excellencies of Him.” Yes, within “His marvelous light” is the place for us to be as God’s “royal priesthood.” God’s light shines brightly in His presence and this is truly marvelous.
I continue to pray that this truth of our “everlasting covenant” in Christ, which has caused us to become “priests of the Lord,” will be received and lived in by all Christians everywhere, so that this world would truly recognize that we are “priests of the Lord” and so that we will be “spoken of as ministers of our God.” In Jesus’ Name, may it be so! Hallelujah!
