To Behold The Beauty Of The Lord - Part 2: Seeing The Beauty Of Jesus Our High Priest
Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:
“One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to meditate in His temple”
Psalm 27:4
Yesterday I shared how ministering to the Lord truly softens our hearts, particularly because of the blessing of our continual beholding the beauty of the Lord in His presence.
Going hand in hand with our hearts being softened in God’s presence as we behold His beauty, is that Jesus Christ, our High Priest, is with us as well as we minister as priests unto God. For Scripture declares of our Savior that “He always lives to make intercession for them. For it was fitting for us to have such a high priest” (Hebrews 7:25-26).
So, picture this - when we enter, by the Spirit of God, into our inner room temple to minister before our Abba Father, we are also, as priests unto our Lord, in the presence of our High Priest, Jesus Christ, because “He always lives to make intercession” for us!
In The presence of our God, ministering to Him, beholding the beauty of the Lord, we are tuned in to the nature of our High Priest, Jesus Christ, of Whom scripture says, “consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession” (Hebrews 2:1). In God’s presence, beholding His beauty, with Christ our High priest, we see just as the Scriptures declare, that our High Priest is faithful (Hebrews 2:2), sympathetic (Hebrews 4:15), merciful and gracious (Hebrews 4:16) and, “He always lives to make intercession” for us (Hebrews 7:25).
In other words, Jesus, our High Priest, is beautiful!
Seeing the beauty of our High Priest, as we minister as priests in God’s presence, beholding “the beauty of the Lord,” leads to even further transformation in our lives, to our being changed by the Spirit of God into the likeness of God (2 Corinthians 3:18).
We are priests unto God, under our High Priest, Jesus Christ, called to minister to our Lord. This is our supreme divine blessing, privilege, and call.
Let us minister to our Lord with this same understanding that David possessed, which simply and fully was this; that to enter God’s presence is to behold His beauty.
Yes, behold the beauty of your Lord today. Behold the beauty of your High Priest, Who lives to make intercession for you. O Lord You are beautiful! Hallelujah!
