That I May Dwell In The House Of The Lord All The Days Of My Life

Today’s Word of Encouragement From Wayne:
“One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to meditate in His temple.”
Psalm 27:4
These are the words of someone who knew the blessed truth and reality of ministering to the Lord.
There was just one thing David was asking of the Lord and he sought after that one thing.
David’s one desire was to “dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life.”
You and I have the house of the Lord within us now, so we may, by the grace of God and through the blood of Jesus Christ, live “all the days” of our lives in God’s presence, as ministers and priests to our God.
In God’s presence there are two divine blessings always present for us. The first is that we are graced to “behold the beauty of the Lord.” The second is that we may “meditate in His temple.”
This was the pure heart of David, to be a minister to God in His presence “all the days of my life.”
Let us be awake and alive to this same rich blessing of our Lord for our own lives.
Because we live with the “temple of God” in us now (2 Corinthians 6:16), as New Covenant children of our Father though Jesus Christ, Who “has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father” (Revelation 1:6), we have this blessed privilege and call, as David did, to “behold the beauty of the Lord and to meditate in His temple” at all times.
Beloved child of God, knowingly occupy the house of the Lord within you today with this same heart that David expressed. Ask for this one thing and then seek after this one thing, and you will always find yourself being led into God’s presence, ministering as a priest to your Lord, beholding His beauty and meditating upon Him, all the days of your life.
Thank Him. Bless Him.
May God rain/reign His beauty upon you in His presence today, to the degree that you become transformed in His presence even as you meditate upon Him. Hallelujah!
