Thanksgiving In Prayer Equals Peace

Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6-7

Which would you prefer; to be anxious while you pray or to be in the peace of God while you pray? Thanksgiving is the difference between these two states of awareness.

Prayer without thanksgiving is a sure way to anxiety, for even while we pray we allow our needs to be greater than God’s Own Person of peace, with the result often being that we magnify our needs instead of our Lord, and what could have been a faith building time in God’s presence descends more into a time of worrying out loud, and we are no better off after our prayer than we were before we prayed.

Prayer with thanksgiving is a sure way to peace, for even while we pray we allow God’s Own Person of peace to be greater than our needs, with the result being that we magnify our Lord over our needs, and what could have been a time of duress in God’s presence ascends more into a time of confessing God with thanksgiving out loud, and we are far better off after our prayer than we were before we prayed.

There’s a big difference in what we receive from God in prayer when we pray with thanksgiving.

God’s peace guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus when we pray with thanksgiving.

We may not be able to fully comprehend exactly how thanksgiving leads to peace, but we sure do know it when God’s peace is guarding our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Thanksgiving in prayer builds faith in prayer.

Thanksgiving elevates God while driving out fear and anxiety.

God is with us all of the time and our expression of thanksgiving in prayer affirms this truth.

Yes beloved child of God, enter into prayer with thanksgiving this day, then make all of your requests known to God with thanksgiving, and His peace will guard your heart and mind for sure in Christ Jesus, our glorious, wonderful, resurrected, indwelling Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). Hallelujah!
