Thanking God Today For “Something New”
Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:
“Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert... to give drink to My chosen people. The people whom I have formed for Myself will declare My praise”
Isaiah 43:18-21
Praise You Lord God!
Yesterday I shared with you a part of this word of prophecy from Isaiah concerning how we, the body of Christ, are presently the people whom God has formed for Himself. What a joy it is for us to know that our God has formed and fitted us, perfectly, for Himself, to be filled with His Spirit and His word, that we would both serve Him with our life in this world, declaring the Gospel, and serve Him as priests in His presence, declaring His praise.
The more we behold our God in His presence the more we are enabled and enthused as His Own “royal priesthood” to declare His praise, proclaiming “the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1st Peter 2: 9). Ministering to the Lord, in God’s presence, reveals to us a marvelous light indeed. Hallelujah!
I continue to pray, each day, for the entire body of Christ to come out of the darkness, concerning our “priesthood,” and to step into the marvelous light of God’s inner court, seeing ourselves as New Covenant priests unto our Lord, “that I might dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord” (Psalm 27: 4).
God has made us for Himself; this is a great life-renewing and life-enriching blessing for us, to be able to draw near to Him, declaring His praise in His presence, and then declaring His praise in this world. Let us all avail ourselves of this incredibly rich blessing and invitation God has given us, of experiencing daily spiritual regeneration in the presence of “His marvelous light.”
Today, I have backed up this text a bit so that we may look at the prophetic beginning of this portion of Scripture. Once again we see in prophecy that the issue of our been formed for God to declare His praise is part of a bigger picture, revealed in God saying, “I will do something new.”
God’s new thing is His new covenant. He has made a roadway through our desert of sin and death, in Jesus Christ, and He has made a river for us, of living water, in order to give us drink. “The former things” have come to pass (the old covenant) and “something new” (the New Covenant) has come. “Will you not be aware of it” is God’s question.
I say, let us be fully aware of God’s “something new.” Let us receive and extol our new and “better covenant” (Hebrews 7:22, 8:6) in our “Lord” and “priest forever” (Psalm 110: 1&4), Jesus Christ. Let us agree with and submit to God’s “something new” and then let us act upon God’s “something new” by actually being “the people whom I formed for Myself,” gratefully entering His presence to be with Him and to “declare My praise.”
Beloved child of God, every single time you minister to your Lord, you are walking in the fulfillment of this prophecy! Yes, declare His praise joyfully today. Thank Him for His “something new.” Thank Him for forming you for Himself. Bless His name.
Hallelujah!
