Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:
“Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ”
1 Corinthians 15:57
Would you like to behold your victory in Jesus Christ today? Yes?
Then give thanks to God, for it is as you look solely to Him, with praise and thanksgiving, that you are enabled to clearly see your victory in Jesus Christ.
By looking to God with thanks, your eyes are cleared in His presence to see Him just as He is.
He is victorious!
And He lives in you, so this makes you victorious!
God has given us our victory and, in giving Him thanks, we are enabled to clearly see and understand that our victory comes directly to us “through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
You may be asking yourself, “my victory over what?”
The absolute truth to see is this - Jesus Christ is your victory - over everything.
For starters, Christ is your victory over “the sting of death,” “the power of sin,” and “the law.” and all of this is contained in one verse, 1st Corinthians 15:56.
In giving thanks to Him, you begin to realize God is giving you victory over your old self, your old thoughts, old patterns, all because of “God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
You may respond, but Wayne, I don’t have the victory right now. Sure, we can all feel that way, even though, in point of fact, if we have Christ we have the victory.
So God, in His mercy, in this verse, points you to the simple victory of the moment that let’s you see your complete victory in Christ.
Your simple victory of the moment is this - give thanks to God.
Thank Him for Who He is and What He has done. Thank Him for giving you the victory. Your simple victory of the moment is in submitting this moment to God in thanksgiving. This opens the door of fellowship between you and your God, in real time, for He is always ready to show you Himself, and He Himself is your victory, completely and permanently.
So, beloved of God, I encourage you to keep it close, simple, and real today, by allowing your own heart the grace to say, believe, and be joyful in declaring, “Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Amen! Hallelujah!
