So That You Will Not Grow Weary And Lose Heart
Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:
“Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart”
Hebrews 12:1-3
Hallelujah my friends, if we keep our eyes simply and completely fixed upon Jesus, as we run our race, and constantly “consider Him,” then we will never have to “grow weary and lose heart” in this life!
I look at it this way. Jesus IS my heart. Jesus lives in my heart and, as long as I am actively considering Him, then there is no way that I can “lose heart” - because Jesus IS my heart, and I am looking right at Him. My eyes are fixed on Jesus. I consider Jesus constantly.
Every day provides a new and blessed opportunity for each of us to consider and, therefore, grow in, a greater awareness and understanding of Jesus Christ. This is such a great and awesome practical benefit that God has given us for our life - to not grow weary and lose heart, as we continue to “consider Him.”
This is the application of the truth of Jesus’ statement in Matthew’s Gospel to “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (Matthew 11: 28-29). Yes, as we daily “consider Him,” we discover indeed that His “rest” has replaced our “weary,” and His “humble heart” has given “rest for [our] souls,” so now we are blessed to not “lose heart,” for we have received the revelation of His beautiful heart.
Jesus endured “hostility by sinners against Himself” and yet remained holy and faithful to His Abba Father for He had a “joy set before Him” that enabled Him to endure. Through our “fixing our eyes on Jesus” in our daily race of life, and through our considering Him first, we also have a great “joy set before” us that enables us to endure - and that joy is Jesus Himself! Jesus IS our strength and joy. Jesus is our shield, our buffer, our armor. Jesus is the joy set before us.
Consider Jesus this day in all His power, Person, provision, purpose.and presence, and you will not grow weary and lose heart. Instead, through Jesus Christ our Lord and High Priest, you will gain strength and you will gain heart - in Him.
Minister to your gracious Lord in His presence and thank Him for the blessing to “consider Him” so that you “will not grow weary and lose heart.” Beloved child of God, set the joy of Jesus before you this day and joyfully “consider Him” in every way. Hallelujah!
