Samuel Shows Us How To Hear From God
Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:
“Now the boy Samuel was ministering to the Lord. And word from the Lord was rare in those days, visions were infrequent. The lamp of the Lord had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the temple of the Lord where the ark of God was, that the Lord called Samuel; and he said, ‘here I am’”
1 Samuel 3:1,3-4
“Word from the Lord was rare in those days,” yet Samuel, at three years old, heard from God.
Here are the simple principles of Samuel. First, see your self as a new born child dedicated to the Lord. Second, live out that dedication by ministering to the Lord, bonding with God, and prefer being in His presence. Be so at peace and at rest with God that even when you lie down, you remain in His presence. This is what Samuel did. Oh Yes, and let us always have a simple, pure, and trusting heart at all times before our God as we minister to Him in His presence. These simple, Godly, qualities are our birthright right now in Jesus Christ Who has made us a “new creation” (2 Corinthians 5:17) and “a royal priesthood” (1st Peter 2:9).
Draw near to God this day as His dedicated beloved child, ministering to the Lord, as a priest to your God, and hear Him calling you. Bless His holy name!
“To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood - and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father - to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen” (Revelation 1:5-6). Yes Lord, “here I am.”
Hallelujah!
