Our Reward For Being Faithful - “Come Near To Me To Minister To Me”
Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:
“But the Levitical priests, the sons of Zadok, who kept charge of My sanctuary when the sons of Israel went astray from Me, shall come near to Me to minister to Me; and they shall stand before Me”
Ezekiel 44:15
Wouldn’t it be wonderful, and about the best thing that could ever happen to this generation of believers in Christ, if the whole church were to simply, honestly, and profoundly receive and obey our identity as priests unto God, with the understanding of the supreme divine reward and privilege it is when God calls someone to “come near to Me to minister to Me?”
Well, this is the truth of Jesus Christ, and of our priesthood through Christ, our High Priest, “to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father” (Revelation 1:6).
Just think, if all of God’s children obeyed and experienced the joy of our intimate priesthood with God in His presence, everyone would gratefully learn to run to Him first, to draw near to God in times of adversity, trials, tribulations, situations, doubts, weaknesses, and uncertainty.
This would be so much better for everyone, and for our testimony to this world if, instead of begging for God’s help and then being impatient or doubtful or guilting ourselves or jumping to conclusions about God’s disposition towards us, that we would first lovingly minister as priests in God’s presence, honoring Him and receiving the strength, faith, wisdom, grace, and “help of His presence” (Psalm 42:5) that freely flows to us and through us as we “come near to Me to minister to Me.”
We have seen how Zadok and his descendants remained always faithful to their priesthood and look at how God highly favored, regarded, and rewarded them!
Ministering to our Lord in His inner court presence is a huge privilege and reward, even as it is the very call of our salvation - “For You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth” (Revelation 5:9-10).
God’s will is for us to reign on earth - as His kingdom and priests. How can that even happen if the whole of Christianity buries the truth and call of our priesthood?
Beloved child of God, “come near to Me to minister to Me” today and thank God for His great divine reward and privilege to you, that you would be called a priest unto God and be invited to “come near to Me to minister to Me.” Amen! And seek God diligently on behalf of the worldwide church, that it would step out of the shadows of ignorance into the full light recognition of, obedience to, and transformation in, our eternal priesthood unto our Lord God in His presence. Hallelujah!
