Ministering To The Lord Is The Way To Hear From God
Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:
“Now the boy Samuel was ministering to the Lord. And word from the Lord was rare in those days, visions were infrequent. The lamp of the Lord had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the temple of the Lord where the ark of God was, that the Lord called Samuel; and he said, ‘here I am’”
1 Samuel 3:1,3-4
This scripture certainly shows us that “ministering to the Lord” is the way to hear from God.
Instead of people calling out today and saying, “Oh God, where are You,” it would be far better if we would all humbly quiet ourselves in His presence, and remain in His presence, until we hear our God saying, “I am right here. Where are you?”
James wrote “draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8).
“Word from the Lord was rare in those days” because people were not aware of ministering to the Lord, which indicated a general lack of actual faith and seeking from the people of God towards the very God they said they believed in.
However, Samuel did minister to the Lord, he did draw near to God, and God called to Samuel.
God was fulfilling the word He had just previously spoken to Eli, concerning his two wicked sons, when He said, “Those who honor Me I will honor” (1 Samuel 2:30). Samuel was honoring God by ministering to Him and God honored Samuel by calling to Him.
When you and I minister to the Lord we are truly honoring our God for we are being the priests He has made us to be, for His Own honor and glory to be known amongst His Own people and to this world (Revelation 1: 5-6, 5: 9-10, 1st Peter 2: 5-9, Acts 13:2).
Receive and experience the blessing of honoring God today by being His priest, dedicated to Him, ministering in His presence, and behold how God honors you by revealing even more of Himself to you.
God’s favor is upon you when you minister to the Lord. Hallelujah!
