Look At All Of These Prophecies!

Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

“The angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the descendants of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. And coming in, he said to her, ‘Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you.’”

Luke 1:26-28

Wow! So many prophecies are coming to fulfillment in this passage from Luke’s Gospel.

“Nazareth” - “This was to fulfill what was spoken in the prophets: ‘He shall be called a Nazarene’” (Matthew 2:23).

“To a virgin” - “The Lord Himself will give you a sign: behold a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call his name Immanuel” (Isaiah 7: 14).

“Of the descendants of David” - “For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us: and the government will rest upon His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, on the throne of David and over his kingdom” (Isaiah 9: 6-7).

Also, “Incline your ear and come to Me. Listen, that you may live: and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, according to the faithful mercies shown to David. Behold I have made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander for the peoples” (Isaiah 55: 3-4). And, to David, “You shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel” (1 Kings 2:4).

Yes, beloved child of God, all Biblical prophecy connects with, intersects with, points to, and is fulfilled in Jesus Christ our Lord. It is just as John wrote in the book of Revelation that “The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy” (Rev. 19:10).

This Christmas, allow all of these biblical prophecies to be used by God in your life, so that you may joyfully keep your eyes fixed upon Jesus, our God and Savior, Who has fulfilled all prophecy in Himself, so that we might live together, now and forever, in Him, Christ, our Immanuel, Who is “God with us.”  Yes, “The Lord is with you!”

Hallelujah!
