Let Us Meet With God In The Garden Today

Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

“They heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. Then the Lord God called to the man. and said to him, ‘Where are you?’”

Genesis 3:8-9

From the very beginning, God has stated His desire that we would all live in close, intimate fellowship with Him. This is certainly a large part of God’s declaration, “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness” in Genesis 1:26. “Let us” and “according to our likeness” imply divine fellowship, and unity, within the Godhead of Father, Son and Spirit. So, for you and I to made “in our image” implies divine fellowship, and unity, in our lives with Father, Son, and Spirit.

Our Savior, Jesus, poured forth His desire for us on the eve of His crucifixion when He prayed, “even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me” (John 17:21).

This account of God with Adam and Eve is the genesis of our Father’s expressed will for all of His people to “be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation” (Exodus 19:6), which is now what God’s word says we have become, as Christians in a New Covenant, where we are, “ a royal priesthood, a people for God’s Own possession, so that you may declare the excellencies of Him” (1st Peter 2:9).

When this account from Genesis says, “They heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden” it makes me think Adam and Eve were familiar with this sound. They knew the sound of their God coming to walk with them.

Yet they hid.

Tomorrow we will look at why they hid. But today let us behold our Father God, His desire to be with Adam and Eve, and His calling out “Where are you?”

God is calling out this same word, right now, to us, the body of Christ. Where are we?

Where our God wants us to be, clearly, is with Him.

For us today, being a priest unto God and “ministering to the Lord” (Acts 13:2) is the equivalent of our meeting with God in the garden of life.

“Where are you?” We are right here Lord God, blessed to meet with You in our temple, our inner room, our garden of Eden with You. May we walk with You in divine fellowship and priesthood now, and forever, so that Your Own glory may be known to Your own people, and to this world, of Your desire for all to know You and walk in divine fellowship with You.

Yes, meet and walk with God, and minister to Him in the Garden today.

Hallelujah!
