Let Goodness and Lovingkindness Follow You All The Days Of Your Life
Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:
“Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever”
Psalm 23:6
David had come to love God so much, and he had spent so much time before His presence, that he was able express his full confidence in his “Shepherd” (Psalm 23: 1) by declaring, “surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life.”
This was not a boast or a presumption in the flesh. This was the sincere declaration of one who, through knowing God and beholding all of His wonderful blessings, had come to realize his inseparableness from his creator.
“Christ in you, the hope of glory” is what the apostle Paul has written to us, following those words with “We proclaim Him” (Colossians 1:27-28). Let us proclaim Christ our Good Shepherd in this day even as David proclaimed “The Lord is my Shepherd.” Let us hear our Shepherd’s voice (John 10:3-5) and know His wonderful qualities, even as David wrote of the many qualities of the Lord his Shepherd.
Let us receive this same blessed confidence in Christ our Savior, where we will joyfully and continuously confess, “surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life.”
In the favor and blessing that our gracious God has given us of “ministering to the Lord” (Acts 13:2), in His Own presence, we are graced to behold the goodness and lovingkindness of our God every day, so we are in the most perfect place to know precisely what David confessed.
Yes we praise You, Lord God, for saving us, calling us to Yourself, and blessing us in Your presence with such favor that we humbly, gratefully, and with exceeding joy say, “surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Thank You Jesus for Your precious presence, indwelling us.
Hallelujah!
