Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:
“This day is holy to our Lord. Do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.’”
Nehemiah 8:10
Joy is not a luxury in the Christian life.
No. Joy is a necessity of the Christian life.
I am not talking about the joy that we sometimes feel over events, people or possessions, for that can be a temporary and fleeting joy.
What I am speaking about is the joy of the Lord.
It’s God’s Own joy, steadfast joy, the joy of God in us - and it is through our reception and understanding of His Own joy within us that continuous strength is supplied to us.
Today is a holy day to the Lord. Praise God!
For us, as His children, every day is a holy day to God.
So, let us not be unaware and unknowingly allow our own thoughts to “be grieved” and drag us down to despair.
Instead of despair, let us repair to God, in the Holy Spirit, and allow His Own joy to become within us our very strength in this life.
Our strength is in His joy and His joy is within us.
Lord, we praise You for Your joyful presence in us. Thank You and may we always remember that Your joy is our strength.
