Jesus, Our Witness, Leader, And Commander Of An Everlasting Covenant

Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

“Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good and delight yourself in abundance. Incline your ear and come to Me. Listen, that you may live: and I will make an everlasting covenant with you according to the faithful mercies shown to David. Behold, I have made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander for the peoples”

Isaiah 55:3-4

Praise God, let us bless and love our Lord Jesus Christ today for faithfully being the perfect witness, leader, and commander of our Abba Father God’s “everlasting covenant.”

Let us behold and understand how Jesus Christ is our “Witness,” our “Leader,” and our “Commander” of “an everlasting covenant.”

God said “Listen carefully to Me,” and Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice” (John 10:27). God said “eat what is good and delight yourself in abundance,” and Jesus said, “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly” (John 10:10). God said, “Incline your ear and come to Me,” and Jesus said “Come to Me... and learn from Me... and you will find rest for your souls” (Matthew 11:28-29). Every thing God prophesied, Jesus did. Everything God revealed Messiah to be, Jesus Christ has faithfully and completely represented, in Spirit and in truth. Jesus Christ is God’s faithful “witness” to us of His new “everlasting covenant,” through all He said and did.

Jesus Christ, right now, is our “Leader” of “an everlasting covenant” for, as we have amply seen, our Savior led the way, accomplishing on our behalf what we could never do. He fulfilled God’s law perfectly, lived a sinless life, and shed His “New Covenant in My blood” (Luke 22:20) at Calvary, atoning for our sins through the blood of the “everlasting covenant,” all so we could receive “eternal redemption” (Hebrews 9:12).

Jesus Christ is presently our “commander,” of His new and “everlasting covenant,” for we are His people, and “He is also head of the body, the church” (Colossians 1:18). The apostle Paul wrote, “And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all” (Ephesians 1:22-23). In this verse from Ephesians, Paul referred to Psalm 8, which the writer of Hebrews also quoted of Jesus, saying,”“What is man that You remember him? Or the Son of Man, that You are concerned about Him? You have made Him for a little while lower than the angels; You have crowned Him with glory and honor, and have appointed Him over the work of Your hands; You have put all things in subjection under His feet” (Hebrews 2:6-8 / Psalm 8:4-6). As our “Commander,” let us humbly and gladly be “in subjection under His feet,” in His “everlasting covenant.”

Let us praise our “Lord” and “priest forever” (Psalm 110:1&4), Jesus Christ, for so faithfully being our “Witness,” our “Leader,” and our “Commander.” May the body of Christ fully respond to this “witness” of our “Leader” and “Commander,” our “Head” of our “everlasting covenant.”

When we do “listen carefully” and come to God, this is what we hear and this is what we see - a full, complete vision and understanding of Jesus Christ, God’s Own “covenant to the people” (Isaiah 42:6). This is where we eat what is good and delight ourselves in abundance. This is where we rejoice, as priests in His presence. This, today, IS our life “abundantly.” Hallelujah!
