Immanuel At Creation And Re-Creation

Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” John 1:1 “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us”

John 1:14

This first verse from John’s Gospel tells us that God’s Word, Jesus Christ, was with God at the beginning of all creation. Even as Genesis 1:1 begins with the words “In the beginning,” so also does John’s Gospel.

The Word of God, Jesus Christ, “was God” and was with God in the beginning of all creation. Jesus Christ is the God of our creation, even as the apostle Paul declared, “By Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth” (Colossians 1:16).

The next time John referenced “the Word” in chapter one was in the fourteenth verse where he wrote, “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” Praise God! Not only is Jesus Christ the God of our creation (John 1:1), but in verse 14 from John’s Gospel we see that Jesus Christ has come to us so He may be the God of our re-creation (John 1:14). Bless His holy Name!

Jesus created us in the first place and then He came to us so we may be blessedly re-created in Him to live life abundant and eternal with Him!

“The Word was with God” in the beginning of this world and the Word has come to us, to dwell in us, right now, as our “‘Immanuel’, which translated means, ‘God with us’” (Matthew 1:23), so that we might truly and spiritually live in His new world, the kingdom of God. God has given all of us the gift of creation and Christ offers to all the gift of re-creation.

This Christmas I encourage you to gratefully dwell with God, Who has come to dwell with You. Live... as a joyous new creation in Jesus Christ, your Immanuel. And, when you have opportunity, show and tell this world of God’s offer of re-creation available to all in Jesus Christ.

Hallelujah!
