“I Am Their Inheritance”

Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

“And it shall be with regard to an inheritance for them, that I am their inheritance; and you shall give them no possession in Israel - I am their possession”

Ezekiel 44:18

This was God’s most wonderful word of blessing and reward, His “with Me” reward (Revelation 22:12), given to His most faithful ministers of the inner court.

They shall have no possessions for “I am their possession.”

At this time in history, there had been a great falling away from the Lord throughout the Levitical priesthood, except for the family of Zadok. “The levitical priests, the sons of Zadok, who kept charge of My sanctuary when the sons of Israel went astray from Me, shall come near to Me to minister to Me” said the Lord (Ezekiel 44:15).

This was God’s highest favor and reward to those who had remained true to Him and to His presence, when everybody else had left Him; they “shall come near to Me to minister to Me.”

Think upon this for a moment. That which was the single greatest reward given by God, in the Old Testament, to His most faithful priests, to “come near to Me to minister to Me” in the inner court, is now the birthright reward of every single child of God in Jesus Christ, Who “has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father” (Revelation 1:6)!

When you received Jesus Christ as your Savior, you became “a temple of God” (1 Corinthians 3:16) with “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27), as the “High Priest of our confession” (Hebrews 3:1) so that we all may be “built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood” (1 Peter 2:5).

This blessing, to “come near to Me to minister to Me,” extended to so few under the Old Covenant, is now available for every one of us in the new Covenant of Jesus Christ.

And yet, even as in Old testament times, the temple of God and our priesthood unto Him in this day lays in neglect, generally speaking, throughout Christendom, having been forsaken in favor of other things which people obviously (and ignorantly) deem more important.

For the sake of the actual glory of God today and for the sake of the benefit of the true body of Christ, we must absolutely have a holy re-birth, a reawakening of our call to God, for His entire church, every single member, to become His “royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s Own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him” (1 Peter 2:9).

Because our God loves us so much, He has made us all to be His “Own possession” and, as priests to our God, we gladly receive His great “inner court” blessing, our Lord’s gracious “with Me” reward, to be with Him.

This is identical to what was proclaimed through Ezekiel, which has now been fulfilled for us in Jesus Christ, that we shall have “no possession” for “I am their possession.”

God openly rewards all of His priests with continual access to, and blessing in, His Own presence. He Himself is our inheritance, our reward, and our possession, both now and forever.

Let us proclaim to all Christians everywhere, so that all may become aware, of this precious, true, spiritual identity and blessing which our God has birthed each one of us into, that we may live and be as close to our God as possible as His Own “chosen race, a royal priesthood... so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him” (1 Peter 2:9).

As we minister to our God today, let us have this awareness of, and gratitude for, His great “with Me” reward that He has given us, so we may be with Him in living fellowship, in spirit and in truth. Yes, thank You, O God, that You have become and are our eternal inheritance! Hallelujah!
