God Has Replaced Our Moshab With His Mishkan

Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

“David My servant will be their prince forever. I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will place them and multiply them, and will set My sanctuary in their midst forever. My dwelling place also will be with them; and I will be their God, and they will be My people”

Ezekiel 37:25-27

Hallelujah, my brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ, for our Lord has made His “dwelling place” with us!

Yesterday I shared a bit with you about the Hebrew meaning of the word “dwelling” in this text. “Mishkan” is the word used and it means: a dwelling place, tabernacle, and resting place. Oh praise God that He is all of these things to us right now. He Himself is our dwelling place, our tabernacle, and our resting place. Bless His name!

Just four verses before this great text and promise of God’s dwelling with us, in verse 23, God said, “I will deliver them from all their dwelling places in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them. The Hebrew word for “dwelling” in this verse is different from the wonderful “dwelling” we are promised in verse 37. “Moshab” is the word used in verse 23 and it simply means: seat, dwelling place.

Sounds pretty empty and boring doesn’t it, especially when compared to God’s dwelling place within us of tabernacle and rest.

So, here’s how I see it. Before I knew Christ as my Savior, I was locked up in sin, and my dwelling was not much, just a seat in a dwelling place in this world of sin. I was stuck in a “Moshab,” empty and alone.

But now, In Jesus Christ, God has delivered me from my lonely, sinful “Moshab” and He has brought me into His Own “Mishkan,” which he has placed within me so that we might dwell together in His tabernacle of rest! Oh yes, hallelujah indeed!

So, why settle for a lonely “Moshab” when God is offering you His Own “Mishkan?”

A “Moshab” is just you, whereas a “Mishkan” is a dwelling of fellowship, unity, rest, peace and joy within you, with your gracious, loving, and indwelling God.

Beloved of God, take some time today to minister thanks to your Lord for taking away your “Moshab,”and giving you a wonderful and awesome “Mishkan” with Himself.

Hallelujah!
