Give Glory And Honor And Thanks
Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:
“Give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, to Him who lives forever and ever”
Revelation 4:9
For the past two days we have been appreciating the value of our being with our Lord and saying in His presence, “Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:57), and “Thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ” (2 Corinthians 2:14), for it is through our beholding Him as our victory and as our triumph that His victory and triumph becomes our victory and triumph.
The more we take the time to see our Lord in His glory and thank Him in His presence for Who He is and for what He has done, the more strengthened we become in Jesus Christ, Who is our strength, “strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man” (Ephesians 3:16), so that we may actually live each day in victory. Praise God!
This verse today, from the book of Revelation, shows us beautifully a massive scene in heaven of worship and adoration to God, sitting upon His throne - in victory, triumph, and rest. Even in heaven the word of life continues always to be “Give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, to Him who lives forever and ever.”
I encourage you to see, in taking all of these verses together, that every time we turn our attention and faith to our God in thanksgiving, that we are replicating this scene of divine worship in heaven, honoring our God in doing so while also, in faith, receiving His victory, triumph, and rest for our own lives. What a God honoring blessing we give to our Lord that simultaneously benefits and does us so much good, even as we “Give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, to Him who lives forever and ever.”
Yes, “Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory”, “Thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph”, and “Give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, to Him who lives forever and ever.” That’s a lot of thanksgiving! And we have so much, in Jesus Christ, to be thankful for.
You touch your eternal victory in heaven when you thank God for your victory in His presence. Happy a happy thanksgiving today!
Hallelujah!
