Full Of Grace And Truth - Part 3

Today's Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

"In Him was life, and the life was the light of men"

John 1:4

Sometimes we may feel so far apart from our Lord. Whether we are actively involved in serving God or are quietly struggling in pain, seemingly cut off from Him, we must know one thing very clearly and that is, our feeling is not the fact. If we feel apart from God, this does not mean we are apart from God. It only means that, at this moment, our feeling has become more real to us than the reality of God's abiding love. It is in times like this that it is good for us to remember and confess that “In Him” and in Him only is life.

When our feelings corral our attention to the degree that they become larger to us than the eternal abundant love and life of Christ within us, we may sense a loss of God. Guilt may set in (what have I done wrong?). Fear may set in (Where has He gone?) But really, all that has happened is that our feelings have temporarily obscured, like a cloud, the sun-shining truth that “In Him” is life. Our feelings may cause us to momentarily forget that our life is in Him but, just as sure as the sun is shining behind the dark cloud, so also our Lord’s life and presence remains, shining within us.

When we remember and confess that Jesus is our life and our life is in Him, we return once more to our blessed Christ-centered awareness and it’s like the lights come back on for us.  This is in fact what happens as this verse goes on to say, “and the life was the light of men.” You see, when we step back within His life, we also step into His light, because His life is the light of men. His life is our light. He is our Son shine.

In Him is life. With Christ our Savior we are assured that He is in us and we are in Him. This truth does not change because of a weaknesses or bad mood. This truth does not change at all. Our true life is always in Christ so, any time we need life, we know right where to go, don’t we? To You O Lord. You are my life, I have no life apart from You. You are my beginning. You are my now. You are my forever. Praise Your Holy Name. May I live in You moment by moment today, more and more each day. Thank You Lord, my life and my light.

It is in the time of feeling apart from God that we must declare this truth the loudest. We are in Him and in Him is life. Life is nowhere else. We won't touch life by struggling on our own and we won't touch life by trying to feel closer to God. Christ is our life. It's a blessed fact, not a wished for feeling. When we place this blessed fact first, just as He deserves (and we need), then most assuredly our true feelings begin to emerge beautifully under the control of God's holy presence, His life and light.

His life is our light. Trust in His life and drink in His life. For His light is here to scatter every cloud of uncertainty or doubt, bringing you into the warm, life-giving glow of His inner-life and light Son shine. Hallelujah!
