Dwelling With God & Ministering To Him Today

Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

“My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me; He who walks in a blameless way is the one who will minister to Me”

Psalm 101:6

God’s word of entreatment through King David in this psalm is saying that our Lord is looking for faithful people of the land, “that they may dwell with Me.” So, in this day, let us show our God our own faithfulness, and our own understanding, by dwelling with Him, living with our God in an inner court, “ministering to the Lord” (Acts 13:2), in fellowship each day.

The next statement in this psalm can be taken two ways. “He who walks in a blameless way is the one who will minister to me” can mean that God sees a blameless person and then invites that person to minister to Him which, in the Old Testament, was seen as a high and divine reward given to an individual for most faithful service (see Ezekiel 44:15-19, 28-31), and this is a good way to see this verse.

But this next way is even better, I think, and more in line with our calling today, to be “built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood” (1sr Peter 2:5). “He who walks in a blameless way is the one who will minister to me” means that you and I express our blameless way to our Lord by actually ministering to God and occupying the priesthood He has called us to.

We don’t argue with God about the issue. We don’t ignore or obscure God’s holy word to “minister as priest to Me” (Exodus 28:1).The desire to minister to God comes from a blameless heart; a heart that desires to be one with God and sees the call of the priesthood as God’s express will and holy invitation to actually live in a state of ministering oneness with God.

O praise our Lord Jesus Christ for the new and blameless heart He has given us, so we might “dwell with me” and “minister to me,” with our Lord in His presence.

Ministering to the Lord promotes blamelessness within the body of Christ. In this day and age this is a holy quality we need to see emerging from God’s people, for our Lord’s glory and reputation, and for the conversion of souls to Jesus Christ.

I also think that when we minister to the Lord, this very act produces blamelessness, or makes us aware of blamelessness, within ourselves. For what can be more pure, holy, innocent, and renewing, than for us to actually minister to our God in His presence in this day, not because people are saying so, but because we know this is what our God wants and we want to give our God what He wants.

Because we have been changed forever by Jesus Christ, now we want what our God wants, which is for us to dwell with Him and minister to Him.

O Praise our Lord! Dwell with and minister to your God of love in Jesus Christ today.

Hallelujah!
