A Word From David About Ministering To The Lord

Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

“But as for me, by Your abundant lovingkindness I will enter Your house, at Your holy temple I will bow in reverence for You. Let all who take refuge in You be glad, let them ever sing for joy; and may You shelter them, that those who love Your name may exult in You”

Psalm 5:7&11

In this early Psalm of David’s, we see the heart of someone who not only practiced and understood ministering to the Lord, but who also desired for all to experience God in this way.

Yes, today may “abundant lovingkindness” lead us all into “Your house,” “Your holy temple” O Lord.

This is for us today because now, in the New Covenant of Jesus Christ, we have been made a priesthood to our God; We are His temple, and we are the place where God may now rest (Revelation 1:5-6,1 Corinthians 3:16, Isaiah 66:1-2).

“I will enter Your house.” We ourselves, as unique members of the same body of Christ, have become individual temples of the Holy Spirit. The apostle Paul wrote, “For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, ‘I will dwell in them and walk among them” (2 Corinthians 6:16). When we meet with God individually, Jesus Christ has instructed us, saying, “But you, when you pray, go into your inner room” (Matthew 6:6). Our “inner room” is represented in the Old Testament as the “inner court” (Ezekiel 44:15-17,21), the place where those favored by God were supremely blessed to “come near to My table to minister to Me” (Ezekiel 44:16). For us, when we enter our “inner room,” as Jesus said, we then “close your door” on the outside world so that we may meet with “and pray to your Father Who is in secret” (Matthew 6:6). The phrase “in secret” proves that we are meeting, individually and exclusively with our “Father Who is in secret.” If this was speaking about congregational worship, then the phrase “in secret” would be without meaning. It’s only a secret when you and the Lord are the only ones that know what you are doing in His presence..

So, minister to your Lord with singing, see His sheltering presence over you, be glad, love His name, and exult in the Lord!

When it comes to ministering to our Lord, it is always “by Your lovingkindness” that we enter His house.

God’s love is the key that unlocks the door and draws us into our inner chamber, where we may come at all times, in reverence, singing, gladness, love, and exultation.

Thank and bless your Lord, for He is so good. Receive the grace and joy which comes to you in the realization of the blessing of lingering in His presence, “and may You shelter them, that those who love Your name may exult in You.”

Hallelujah!
