As For Me, I Shall Behold Your Face

Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

As For Me, I Shall Behold Your Face

“As for me, I shall behold Your face in righteousness; I will be satisfied with Your likeness when I awake”

Psalm 17:15

How was it that David was able to behold God’s face?

David was not asking. He did not say, “Oh please show me Your face God.”

Instead David affirmed, “as for me, I shall behold Your face,” as if to say, “I don’t know what others want to behold but, “as for me, I shall behold Your face in righteousness.”

David was experiencing this, regularly I believe, through the Spirit of the Living God.

In ministering to the Lord, we behold the face of God. David had such a highly practiced life of ministering to the Lord in God’s presence that he was simply being honest, because he knew from experience, when he said, “I shall behold Your face in righteousness.”

You and I have this same blessing, made real for us in Jesus Christ, of beholding “Your face in righteousness.” We have become a kingdom of priests and the temple of God is inside of us (Revelation 1:5-6, 1 Corinthians 3:16). These are blessings of our being made a new creation in the New Covenant of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians Chapters 3-5) and, as a result, the apostle Paul wrote, “God, Who said, ‘Light shall shine out of darkness,’ is the One Who has shown in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:6).

We receive our priesthood through the light and knowledge of God and His word. By faith we minister to our Lord as priests in His temple.

We are called, blessed, and compelled by the Holy Spirit to see “the glory of God in the face of Christ,” even as we minister to the Lord, for this is our Lord’s expressed will.

This is God’s blessed will for all of us, that we would see His face in righteousness on a regular basis.

God is shining right now, in our hearts, in our temple, ready to show us, and always ever more fully, “the glory of God in the face of Christ.”

So, let us, as David did, say and affirm in this day, “As for me, I shall behold Your face in righteousness.” Yes, we bless you Lord and see “in our hearts... the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ!” Hallelujah!
