Receive The Anointing Which “Abides In You”

Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

Receive The Anointing Which “Abides In You”

“The Lord said, ‘Arise, anoint him; for this is he.’ Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon David from that day forward”

1 Samuel 16:12-13

David was the one individual whom God had found, saying “This is he,”in all of His searching for “a man after His own heart” (1 Samuel 13:14).

When Samuel anointed him, “the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon David.”

As new born children of God, we have been given the call of our priesthood (Revelation 1:5-6, 1Peter 2:5-9), that we ourselves would be a people of God pursuing “after His own heart.”

In his first letter, the apostle John wrote to the body of Christ saying, “you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know. The anointing you have received from Him abides in you” (1 John 2: 20 &27).

As beloved, blood redeemed, new born children of God, we have received an anointing from our Lord that is even better than the anointing upon David! David was anointed with oil on the outside and the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon Him. You and I have received an anointing on the inside and the Spirit of the Lord is mightily within us.

We tap into the resources of this anointing, this in-filling, whenever we minister to our Lord in His presence.

The anointing we have received from God “abides” in us. This is a living abiding anointing of God within us.

Through Jesus Christ, God has given us a new creation heart that is continually toward Him. When we minister to God on a regular basis, we are in continual fellowship with He Who abides within us.

Ministering to the Lord is our own abiding presence within His abiding anointing in His presence. Amen.

I encourage you to be a person after God’s heart today, receiving and participating in the “anointing you have received from Him” that “abides in you.” God has graciously poured out His “horn of oil” within you. Abide with and bless your God in His presence. Hallelujah!
