I Will Praise The Lord While I Live - Part 8
Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:
“Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, o my soul! I will praise the Lord while I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being”
Psalm 146:1-2
Hallelujah, beloved of God, I pray your inner most being is responding well to this insight into a dedicated life of praise, “while I have my being,” with all of the protection and blessings that follow.
Finally, today, let us see how Psalm 146 concludes with, "The Lord protects the strangers; He supports the fatherless and the widow; but He thwarts the way of the wicked. The Lord will reign forever. Thy God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the Lord!" (Ps. 146: 9-10).
First, please notice that this Psalm ends the same way it began - “Praise the Lord.”.
There are plenty of reasons for us to live a life of praise God, and the Psalmist warns us, about missing this major blessing in our lives, saying don’t trust in princes and mortal men. They die, they’re gone, and that’s it. The whole show’s over for them at that point. And they are not nearly as good as our God. And trusting in them will make you miss out on trusting God and why this is so important.
Instead, look to the Lord, and you’ll find this: the person who really has a developed life of praise will grow and go more in this direction, of seeing all things in the light of God’s light.
The more we look and live in the presence of God, and the more we count the attributes of God like the Psalmist here does, the more we will be enabled and enlivened to say, “I'm going to praise the Lord while I live. I'm going to sing praises to my God while I have my being.”
As children of God, we’re all going to be doing this anyway in eternity, so let’s jump on this reality right now. “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matt. 6:10). This is what it means. What is being done in heaven? From what we see in the book of Revelation, we see the Lord is being endlessly praised by all.
Right now is when you need, and can be so helped and guided, by stepping into this dedicated life of praise. Yes accept your mantle of praise (Isaiah 61:2)!
The beauty of this Psalm is that we can all do this. We can make this choice.
You can make a choice today, Saying, “I choose to do this right now. I'm going to praise the Lord while I have my being right now.”
And that’s how this begins and continues, beautifully, one moment at a time. The more you "praise the Lord while I have my being" the more that cultivated field of your heart is going to be in harmony with Jesus. And the nice thing about being in harmony with the Lord is that you get to feel that benefit. It does you good every time - body, soul and spirit.
May God bless this word to you, fully, in Jesus’ name. Hallelujah!
