He Makes Me Walk On My High Places

Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

He Makes Me Walk On My High Places

“I will exult in the Lord, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength and He has made my feet like hind’s feet, and makes me walk on my high places”

Habakkuk 3:18-19

Do you know what happens to us when we habitually meet with God in worship on the mountains, as we have been looking at these past few days?

He makes our feet like hind’s feet.

Every single time we rise up in our priesthood to meet with our God in His presence, to honor Him, worship Him, and abide with Him in silence, He is doing a work in us, actually training our feet to be sure footed, and comfortable, on our high places.

A pagan’s high places represented their worship of false God’s. However, in this passage from Habakkuk, our Christian high places are when we say “I will exult in the Lord, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.”

It is when we knowingly declare His praises that He strengthens us and makes our feet like hind’s feet. We realize, as believers in Christ our Lord, especially as we worship our God in His presence, that He has, in fact, seated us with Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). Being seated with Christ in heavenly places - these are our high places.

Hind’s feet, spiritually speaking, are the worship feet of the priest of the Lord who is devoted to being with God. Hind’s feet become sure footed on the high places through constant practice.

A hind, simply, is a deer. The high craggy places are much safer for deer than being down on the plain, where they are available to every predator around. An older deer has learned the safety, and the food, available only on the high places.

And so it is with us, spiritually speaking.

King David declared, “who is God, besides the Lord? And who is a rock, besides our God? God is my strong fortress; and He sets the blameless in His way. He makes my feet like hind’s feet, and sets me on my high places” (2 Samuel 22: 32-34).

“He sets the blameless in His way” - “His way” is for our feet to become worship feet, hind’s feet, a priests feet, sure-footed through a sure practice of our sure faith!

Again, in Psalm 18, David stated, “The God who girds me with strength and makes my way blameless. He makes my feet like hind’s feet, and sets me upon my high places” (32-33).

Our “blameless” way is for us to knowingly declare, along with Habakkuk and David, that “I will exult in the Lord, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength and He has made my feet like hind’s feet, and makes me walk on my high places.”

Oh beloved of God, walk on your high places today with this awareness, of God giving you special feet for this special service, that you might be with Him, strengthened and rejoicing, safe and exulting, nourished by Him in peace and in salvation. Amen! Hallelujah!
