Three Beautiful Truths
Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:
“The sheep hear His voice, and He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out”
John 10:3
Here are three beautiful truths in this verse, regarding our Good Shepherd, that we have been graciously given and should always be aware of, for our own maximum benefit and blessing throughout each day.
Indeed, according to this Scripture, we should not even think of going “out” our door without first reminding ourselves of these truths concerning; who we are as the sheep of His pasture, and Who He is, the Lord our Shepherd.
The first beautiful truth is, “the sheep hear His voice.” Yes, our Good Shepherd calls us to Himself and He speaks to us.
If you are not hearing His voice, then it just makes sense for you to come closer to your Shepherd. Keep drawing nearer to your Good Shepherd until you hear His voice and then continue drawing closer to your Shepherd until His voice becomes the only voice you hear, the only voice you want to hear, the voice above other voices, the voice that drowns out the other distracting and confusing voices.
This next beautiful truth is certainly a great incentive for us concerning the first truth, for Jesus continued, saying, “and he calls his own sheep by name.”
Praise God, we do know that our Lord knows us intimately. Jesus said, “the very hairs of your head are all numbered” (Matthew 10:30). But our Good Shepherd wants us to know that He hears us personally, that He truly cares for us, and what better way to know this than for us to draw near to our Shepherd, so close that we hear Him (know Him) calling our name. Our Shepherd is calling us by name, individually, with all the affection and commitment that this implies concerning our Good Shepherd’s love towards us.
The third beautiful truth in this verse, praise our Lord, is “and leads them out.”
Yes, we hear our Shepherd’s voice; He calls our name and then He leads us out. Out where? Out wherever we have to go, everyday! You are not alone, your Shepherd is leading you out into this world and He is going before you.
Let Jesus lead you as you go out this day. First, hear His voice. He is calling you to Himself by name. Then, in this state of intimate fellowship, as a beloved sheep with your Shepherd, go forth into your day with this blessed and safe awareness, of the protection and direction your Good Shepherd offers and provides for you in Himself at all times. Hallelujah!
