God Knows Those Who Take Refuge In Him

Today's Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

God Knows Those Who Take Refuge In Him

“The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble, and He knows those who take refuge in Him”

Nahum 1:7

Hallelujah, child of God! We are so blessed to know, through Jesus Christ, that our Lord is indeed good, and that He is a stronghold to us, in the day of trouble, and in every day!

Every time we approach our Lord to minister to Him before His presence, in our inner room (Matthew 6:6), we are graced to actually see God being our stronghold. As priests to our God, we learn that being in God’s presence is always a stronghold for us. It’s exactly for us as the Psalmist declared, “The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty; the Lord has clothed and girded Himself with strength” (Psalm 93:1).

When we lift our eyes and our hearts to praise our Lord in His presence, we are blessed to be in the presence of His strength and majesty. Hallelujah! And we are blessed to be transformed by His strength and majesty as we linger before Him.

On top of all of these priestly blessings, that are freely available to every child of God through the New Covenant of our “Lord” and “priest forever” (Psalm 110:1&4), Jesus Christ, we are also told in this word from Nahum that our Lord “knows those who take refuge in Him.”

Yes, it is just as our Savior, Jesus, plainly told us, saying, “I know My own and My own know Me” (John 10:14) and “If anyone serves me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also” (John 12:26).

Here is one huge take away benefit for us, as priests of our Lord, in understanding this statement that the Lord “knows those who take refuge in Him.” It’s this: as priests to God, we know He is our refuge. We know this. We practice this. We are constantly appearing to minister to our Lord and He is always our stronghold and refuge, our fortress of solitude and strength. And He knows us!

God knows those who draw near and “take refuge in Him.” Ministering to the Lord is specifically our drawing near to God. When Jesus said, “I know My own and My own know Me” (John 10:14), He was offering us this reality, that we may know Him, intimately, even as He knows us, intimately, and this is realized, in real time, through our priesthood.

As practicing priests to God, we know exactly the simple truth of “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8).

God “knows those who take refuge in Him.” This is another reason why we must keep declaring and walking in the truth of our New Covenant priesthood, because God truly knows those who draw near to Him as their refuge, and every child of God deserves to truly know this in their life with God. Yes let all children of God know this, so that they will joyfully take up their priesthood and know that He knows, and is pleased, with them, as they take refuge with Him.

God knows you and you can know that He knows you, every time you draw near to minister to Him. Yes, agree with God today and be with Him, your refuge, in His presence “and where I am, there My servant will be also” (John 12:26). Hallelujah!
