Jesus Christ, Our High Priest Of “The Good Things To Come”

Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

“When Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation; and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant”

Hebrews 9:11,12,15

I love how Scripture tells us that when Christ appeared as our High Priest, carrying His Own New Covenant blood into God’s presence on our behalf, the phrase “good things to come” is used.

The New Covenant of our Savior, through which we are saved and now live abundantly, is a New Covenant of “the good things to come.”

Praise God, good things have come and continue to come to us through the New Covenant of our High Priest, Jesus Christ. “Eternal redemption” is certainly a good thing that has come to us!

Through this passage in Hebrews we are given a ring side seat to Jesus, our resurrected Savior and High Priest, approaching His Father in heaven with His Own perfect sacrificial New Covenant blood. As Jesus is approaching, we are told in this Scripture, that good things are coming.

Whenever you sit down for a thanksgiving dinner, you know that a good meal is coming. As Jesus, our High Priest, drew near to His Father, we see that His New Covenant is a covenant of “good things to come.” All the angels in heaven could see that good things were coming as Jesus approached His Father.

The entire body of Christ needs and deserves to know about all the “good things” that have come to us through the New Covenant of our Savior and High Priest, Jesus Christ. The truth of our High Priest, His New Covenant, and of our “royal priesthood” to Him (1st Peter 2:9) is scarcely on the radar, if at all, in today’s so-called contemporary Christianity, which has actually become a biblically minimized worldly religion.

Beloved child of our Father, thank God for, and be ready to tell the world about, all the “good things” that have come to you and to the true body of Christ, through the New Covenant of Jesus Christ, our “high priest of the good things to come.” Minister as a priest to your Lord in His presence today and this will become yet another in the list of “good things” that have come to you today. Hallelujah!
