Our Spiritual New Covenant Holy Attire
Today’s Word of Encouragement From Wayne:
“He appointed those who sang to the Lord and those who praised Him in holy attire, as they went out before the army and said, “Give thanks to the Lord, for His lovingkindness is everlasting”
2 Chronicles 20:21
To praise God “in holy attire” in this day is realized in our lives when we receive our identification as priests unto God (1st Peter 2:9) and we prepare ourselves, humbly and joyfully, as His priests to enter God’s presence.
Yesterday I shared the word from Exodus where God, for the first time, described to Moses the priestly garments, saying there were “for glory and for beauty” (Exodus 28:2).
Our God sees those who minister to Him as being clothed with glory and beauty.
The prophet Isaiah, in the anointing of the Lord, declared this: “I will rejoice greatly in the Lord, my soul will exult in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels” (Isaiah 61:10). In the third verse of this same chapter Isaiah said God gave “the mantle of praise” to His prophesied people of this new “everlasting covenant” (Vs. 8) and God also declared, “But you will be called the priests of the Lord; you will be spoken of as ministers of our God” (Vs. 6).
So, these are our spiritual priestly garments, which we presently are clothed in, as New Covenant children of God, fully accepting our call and identity as “priests of the Lord” (see 1 Peter 2:5-9, Revelation 1:5-6, 5:9-10). We have been clothed “with the garments of salvation,” and “wrapped... with a robe of righteousness,” and we have received “ the mantle of praise.” These special New Covenant garments have been given to us “for glory and for beauty,” so we may know that we are beloved of and belong to our God, that we are covered and wrapped up with Him, and the sign that we have received our “mantle of praise” is when we enter as “ministers of our God” into His presence, to thank Him, to praise Him, for Who He is and for all He has done.
Child of God, I encourage you to gratefully and joyfully receive and be clothed with your “holy attire” this day and thank your God, Who has loved you and called you to Himself, that you might live abundantly and eternally with Him in His presence. Yes, “Give thanks to the Lord, for His lovingkindness is everlasting.” Hallelujah!
