I Will Bless Your Name Forever And Ever

Today’s Word of Encouragement From Wayne:

I Will Bless Your Name Forever And Ever

“I will extol You, my God, O King, and I will bless Your name forever and ever.” Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord and highly to be praised”

Psalm 145:1-3

In this last of David’s Psalms we see that his outlook upon his Lord remained consistent throughout all of his years. David’s first love was the Lord and, because of that simple, complete, singular, profound truth, David loved to be in the presence of his God, Whom he loved, as often as possible.

As you and I practice our priesthood before our God on an “every day” basis, like David did, soon our first thought, our blessed default first thought, will be like David as well, to “extol You, my God, O King, and I will bless Your name forever and ever.”

The more regularly we minister to God the more we strengthen our inner being in God’s praises and presence. This keeps our foundation in Jesus Christ rock solid and this also keeps the truth of “the beauty of the Lord” (Psalm 27: 4) ever before us, for “great is the Lord and highly to be praised.”

Ministering to the Lord is our actual practice of loving our First Love, Jesus Christ.

When Jesus Christ is our First Love, in actual living and thinking, then it is easy, and even natural, for our first thought to be upon our first love.

Let us say “I will extol You, my God, O King, and I will bless Your name forever and ever.” Yes, Let us extol our Lord for all of His goodness, lovingkindness, and all of His awesome qualities towards us. The more we extol our Lord, the more we will bless Him for blessing us.

The goodness of God that is unlocked for us in His presence, as we extol and bless His name, leads us to the wonderful desire within for even more of our God’s goodness, so we say, “Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever.“ Yes, we realize that this Holy Spirit flow coming from the presence of “my God, O King” is something that will benefit us greatly “every day,” so our ministering to our Lord can only increase in frequency as our mounting desire is to “praise Your name for ever and ever.”

Our understanding of the magnificent awesomeness of our God keeps growing within us as we bless and extol Him “every day” in His presence, to the point that we have to tell the whole world, believer and unbeliever alike, of what we have found, saying “Great is the Lord and highly to be praised.” The light of God within us bathes us in His presence and causes us to shine our Lord’s goodness out into this world, that all may make this beautiful confession found in these first three verses of Psalm 145.

Take time to love and adore your First Love today, “my God, my King,” in His loving presence, and you too will be joyfully, confidently, and gratefully saying, “I will bless Your name forever and ever.” Hallelujah!
