Ministering To The Lord Is God’s Prescription Of Well Being For You
Today’s Word of Encouragement From Wayne:
“I have set the Lord continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices; my flesh also will dwell securely”
Psalm 16:8-9
Benefit after benefit flowed from the pen of David as He wrote about his life and understanding of ministering to the Lord.
We have seen, in our past two devotions, that David was blessed to behold God in the morning and in the evening. You can’t escape the obvious evidence that David’s heart’s desire was to “set the Lord continually before me.” And because of this, because David ministered regularly to God before His presence, he realized in his own life what God now freely offers to us all for our own lives, that “my heart is glad and my glory rejoices; my flesh also will dwell securely.”
When you and I minister to our Lord, our “glory rejoices,” meaning our spirit praises God in His presence.
Our “heart is glad” when our “glory rejoices,” and this practice of God’s presence, of ministering to the Lord, absolutely has a profound effect upon our whole being, so that even our “flesh also will dwell securely.”
Look carefully at how this progression works. We set the Lord continually before us first. Then we rejoice and are glad in Him. Then our flesh also dwells securely. Amen.
Let us always place God first. And then let us enter the blessing of, from our innermost beings, worshiping God in Spirit and rejoicing in Him. From this our hearts and minds are benefited and gladdened. And then, even our flesh also experiences true rest, as a result of our whole being dwelling securely in God’s love.
Praise His name. Isn’t this absolutely wonderful, and simple, and direct, and true for us in Jesus Christ?!
O greatly beloved one of God, enter the loving presence of your Lord this day as His priest and be blessed to “set the Lord continually before me.” Do not be shaken. Let your heart be glad in Him. Let your glory rejoice in Him. And may even your flesh dwell securely as you dwell and abide with Him. Hallelujah!
