“Where I Am, My Servant Will Be Also”

Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

“Where I Am, My Servant Will Be Also”

“If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also”

John 12:26

“I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also”

John 14:3

God’s will is for us to be with Jesus, both here and now on earth, and forever with Him in heaven, bless His holy name.

Yesterday I shared with you our Savior’s words from John, chapter 17, where Jesus prayed to His Father, “I desire that they also, whom you have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory” (John 17:24). I have been emphasizing these past few days that Jesus’ stated “desire” for us in this verse, to be with Him and to see His glory, is for now, today, and not only for some far off future time.

Indeed this is God’s will and reward for all of us right now, individually and for His entire body, that “where I am, there My servant will be also.” This is God’s continual “be with Me where I am” reward, available to every single Christian. And this is precisely what occurs when we receive, enter, and obey our most blessed call to be priests unto our Lord, to minister to Him (1 Peter 2:5-9, Acts 13:2).

This certainly becomes, and is, the well understood and most blessed reality for the Christian who practices their priesthood unto God. We are being actively “with” Jesus, our High Priest, in the inner court of our being, “a temple of God” (1 Corinthians 3:16), as we minister to our Lord and see His glory.

In “ministering to the Lord” (Acts 13:2), we are continually praising our God, for we are joyful to realize that not only is Jesus’ will for us, “where I am, there My servant will be also,” but this is also our great, great blessing, to be in this state of constant, intimate, divine fellowship with our Savior and High Priest in His presence.

One of the biggest practical and spiritual benefits I have found, in being with Jesus in our inner court, serving Him in Spirit, is that we profoundly want to remain in conscious fellowship with Jesus as we go into the outer court of this world, also serving Him in Spirit.

I praise my God that He has prepared a place for us to be with Him forever in heaven, and I praise my God that He allows us to prepare a place for Him, to be with us now, in the inner court of our being, so we may “be with Me where I am.”

His presence within us is His beautiful gift to us.

When we step into our inner court it is as if we have turned on the lights in this inner room and now we see the beauty of our Lord God and we are delighted to meet regularly with Him in this prepared place in our hearts. In this way we come to experience the truth of Jesus’ promise, “Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” Matthew 28:20.

Christ is within us right now so, where He is let us be also, with Him, in His presence, seeing His glory, realizing that His reward is with Him even as we are being with Him, now... and throughout all eternity. Hallelujah!
