“An End To Every Dispute”

Today’s Word of Encouragement From Wayne:

“For men swear by one greater than themselves, and with them an oath given as confirmation is an end of every dispute. In the same way God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an oath. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a fore-runner for us, having become a high ‘priest forever according to the order of Melchizadek’”

Hebrews 6:16-17,19-20, Psalm 110:4

In this beautiful passage of Scripture we once more see Jesus Christ revealed to us as the fulfilment of Psalm 110 which, the writer of Hebrews taught, is God’s “oath” to us, the “heirs of the promise.”

God’s amazing grace towards us is on full display here in this text.

To read that our God actually was “desiring even more to show” us, “the heirs of promise the unchangeableness of His purpose,” that He would, hundreds of years ago, through King David, make an “oath” on our behalf through Psalm 110, to be fulfilled for us in His Own Son, is truly amazingly thoughtful and loving grace indeed. Look at how strong our God’s desire is for us that He would do this!

God’s oath, concerning His Son as both “Lord” and “priest forever” has been given to us to be “an end of every dispute.” Through the perfect New Covenant blood of our risen Savior, God Himself has solved the problem of sin. When we repent of sin and receive Christ and are converted to God, all disputes are ended. We are at peace with God, made one with our Lord, in and through Jesus Christ.

God’s oath, fulfilled in Christ our “high ‘priest forever according to the order of Melchizadek,’” has given us a new “hope both sure and steadfast” and a true “anchor of the soul.” This “hope” is one “which enters within the veil,” meaning that you and I have been graciously given access into God’s presence because “Jesus has entered as a fore-runner for us.”

Beloved child of God, I encourage you to minister with praise today as a priest “within the veil” of God’s presence, so you may touch the reality of your own personal “anchor of the soul”“hope both sure and steadfast”“within the veil.” Jesus has entered first “as a forerunner for us.” So let us enter as well and meet with Jesus, here “within the veil,” with our “high ‘priest forever according to the order of Melchizadek,’” so we may thank Him for ending “every dispute,” for fulfilling the “oath” on our behalf, and for giving us a new “hope.”

Your hope thrives best in the presence of God, for “within the veil,” is where your hope lives as your “anchor of the soul.”

Yes ,thank God that He has anchored you with Him, forever, in His presence, through Jesus Christ, ending “every dispute.” This is God’s “desire” for you. Hallelujah!
