The Blessing Of Being Attracted To Jesus
Today’s Word of Encouragement From Wayne:
“Mary, who was seated at the Lord’s feet, listening to His word. But Martha was distracted with all her preparations”
Luke 10:39-40
It’s all to easy, isn’t it, for us to become “distracted,” even as a child of God.
This is just one more reason why the realization of our priesthood to God, to be ministers unto our Lord, is such a blessing in our lives. Ministering to the Lord is our spending real time “at the Lord’s feet,” in stillness, in praises, in supplications, and in “listening to His word.”
Ministering to our Lord helps us retain a healthy and holy focus upon our Lord Jesus Christ throughout the day, because we are taking that special time to be in His presence, with Him, where we are allowed to become just like “Mary, who was seated at the Lord’s feet, listening to His word.”
We can be distracted by all our preparations (all our thoughts) and suffer outside of God’s presence as a result, even though He is right here with us, just as Martha did.
Or we can be focused, at rest, in peace, and as close to our Lord as possible, “seated at the Lord’s feet, listening to His word,” just as Mary did.
Merry Mary or Mad Martha - which will we be?
I think we know.
Let us bless our Lord as His ministers, sit at His feet, and become renewed in His presence.
“Listening to His word” always ministers life to us and is always better than our distractions.
This day, give yourself the blessing of being attracted to Jesus, like Mary, rather than being distracted from your Lord of love, life, grace, and peace, like Martha.
Bless His holy name at His holy feet. Hallelujah!
