Receiving The Blessing Of “He Was Not, For God Took Him”

Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

Receiving The Blessing Of “He Was Not, For God Took Him”

“Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him”

Genesis 5:24

I love this verse of scripture.

On the outside, this verse tells us that Enoch walked so closely with God that “he was not, for God took him,’ which is generally interpreted to mean that Enoch did not die, for God “took him” directly to be with Himself.

On the inside, this verse tells us that walking closely with our God today, means that we reach a place where “we are not, for God takes us.”

This is precisely what ministering to the Lord is all about. We are walking with God, in His presence, as His “royal priesthood” (1st Peter 2:9),and “we are not,” for we have blessedly come to know that it is not about us at all but indeed all about our Lord and our God; Who He is, what He has done, and the glory of His presence.

It is as John the Baptist declared when he stated about himself and Jesus, “the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hear him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. So this joy of mine has been made full. He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:29-30). This is in the same spirit as the principle being stated, “he was not, for God took him.”

These verses show us what a supreme blessing it is for our lives that we have been favored and graced in our Lord to live this close to God (“Christ in you, the hope of glory” Colossians 1:27), joyfully decreasing, specifically so He may increase and become our all in all.

Completely free from any and all painful, and vain-full, self-awareness (and therefore separation), being “in His presence” (Psalm 16:11), because of Who He is, is what God offers and invites us to, as life abundant and “fullness of joy” (Psalm 16:11) for our lives in Him.

Today I encourage you to say yes to your priesthood and receive the “he was not, for God took him” blessing awaiting you in His presence. Let God take you to the place where you are not, because God has taken you to Himself in His presence. Hallelujah!
