My Spirit Within Me Seeks You Diligently – Pt 2

Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

"We have waited for You eagerly; Your name, even Your memory, is the desire of our souls. At night my soul longs for You, indeed, my spirit within me seeks You diligently"

Isaiah 26:8-9

How blessed we are in Jesus Christ, my brothers and sisters, that we can say along with Isaiah, "my soul longs for you,“ and we can also rejoice to say ”my soul has found you and lives within you," for we have been rescued by our Lord from sin, death, and separation and we now flourish in Him, for He has become our abundant and new life, in Himself.

Yesterday we saw how blessed we are, as God’s “royal priesthood” (1st Peter 2:9), to have entered the reality of “my spirit within me seeks you diligently” through ministering to the Lord, in His presence, in our inner court, so may indeed see His face, the glorified face of Christ in us.

In my own life, there is a twin reality of "my spirit within me seeks you diligently," which applies to seeing Jesus glorified in His word, in the Scriptures. Reading and studying Scripture in God’s presence, with thankfulness, with an honest heart, seeking diligently, contextually and completely the whole truth, with Christ as the understood living and present Head of truth; this is the perfect balance and accompaniment to seeing God’s glory in the face of Christ shining in our hearts (2 Corinthians 4:6). For me, seeking and seeing the face of Christ, and God’s word, in His presence, is a meaningful worshiping of God “in spirit and truth” (John 4:24).

Here are some beautiful Scriptures which speak to this point of being in God’s word even as we are in His presence.

“The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life” & "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life. We have believed and have come to know that You are the Holy One of God" (John 6:63&68-69).

"You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me: and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life" (John 5:39-40, Jesus to the pharisees).

"Mary, who was seated at the Lord’s feet, listening to His word" & "only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her" (Luke 10:39&42).

"Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom" (Colossians 3:16). "As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him" (1st John 2:27). "And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true" (1st John 5:20).

"If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make our abode with him." & "These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you" & "These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full" & "These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace" (John 14:22,25-27 /15:11 /16:33).

There’s no doubt about it for me, especially after more than 40 years of practice, reading God’s word in God’s presence, with Christ, with the Holy Spirit, is the like reading in a room with all the (glorious) lights on, versus reading all alone in the dark.

May God bless this word, of seeing His word in His presence, abundantly to you. Seek God diligently this way, in His word, in His presence, as a beautiful life-giving part of your priesthood to God, and watch how all of these Scriptures, that I have shared with you, come to glorious light, bearing fruit and life for you in Jesus’ name. Hallelujah!
