In Our Shepherd’s Hand
Today’s Word of Encouragement from Wayne:
"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand"
John 10:27-28
See yourself right now in the hand of your Good Shepherd. Do you notice that Jesus said the word “hand” instead of hands? He could have said “no one will snatch them out of my hands” and we still would have had the same sense of assurance, of our complete ability to rest and feel safe in our Shepherd’s hands. However, Jesus did say “hand” and this makes me think of how big His hand must be if He can fit a whole sheep in His one hand. Actually, this verse is for all of us, His whole flock, so indeed He is holding all of us in His hand.
What’s my point? It’s that God certainly must have big hands, big enough to hold you and to handle everything that concerns you for your own sense of safety, of belonging, of well-being, and of being precious, “the sheep of His hand” (Psalm 95:7), in His hand! See yourself now in the big hand of your Good Shepherd.
Oh thank You Lord that Your hand is so big, so powerful, so awesome, and yet gentle enough to lovingly hold us, Your beloved sheep, safely and securely forever. Hallelujah!
