One Flock Following The Voice Of Our One Shepherd

Today’s Word of Encouragement from Wayne:

"When he puts forth all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice"

John 10:4

Yesterday we looked at Jesus words expressing His will for His entire church when He said, "they will hear My voice; and they will become one flock with one shepherd" (John 10:16). Today’s verse shows us why this is so important, for our Lord has a purpose for His flock in this world and we need to hear His voice in order to know this and follow Him. Our Good Shepherd’s desire is to put forth "all his own,“ as ”one flock with one shepherd." This is to be our presence in this world. But how can we know this unless we hear our Shepherd’s voice and how can we follow Him unless we hear His voice? Hearing and following our Shepherd’s voice is imperative if we are to be one with Him as one flock.

If we would truly all follow Jesus Christ our Good Shepherd and become the “one flock” that He died and rose for, purchasing us with His Own blood, then we would all have one powerful, glorious, colossal, unified witness to this world and that would be this – The Lord is our Shepherd! Imagine for a moment how powerful our Christian witness would be to this world if we truly all rallied around Christ our Good Shepherd, forsaking all lesser divisions and distractions, so we may all point this world to Jesus by showing this world how devoted we are to our Shepherd who has made us one with Him. If God could make all Christian’s one with Him, as indeed He has, and if all Christian’s truly submitted and responded to God’s call, then I believe God’s anointing and presence would be greatly and powerfully known throughout His church, His flock, and to this world.

Yes, let us pray towards this day of oneness within God’s flock, for His Own glory and will to be done. But in the meantime, everyday, I urge you to live in this oneness. Be one sheep that says “yes” continually to your Good Shepherd, for it as you live in oneness with Jesus Christ that you are able to hear His voice and follow His gentle, profound leading. Live in oneness today and let God’s anointing and presence be powerfully known within you. Hallelujah!
