Drinking Living Water In The Waters Of Rest

Today’s Word of Encouragement from Wayne:

"Jesus stood up and cried out, saying, ‘If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink"

John 7:37

For the past two days I have shared with you from the 23rd Psalm regarding the Lord, our Shepherd, leading us "beside quiet waters," the waters of rest, that we may freely drink, in safety and in the presence of our Good Shepherd. In this verse from John’s Gospel we plainly see Jesus, as our Shepherd, calling all to come to Him and drink. Jesus is our Good Shepherd and He always shepherds us, in spirit, to Himself. He is our living water, our daily bread, our sustenance, our rest, our peace.

Our shepherd provides all that we need, consistently, so that we may be spiritually healthy and happy in His Presence. Our Shepherd leads us to the waters of rest and, when we follow our Shepherd, we see that He Himself is the living water we drink. "Let him come to Me and drink." Is there a thirst within you? Come to Jesus now, and in the presence of your Good Shepherd, drink freely and deeply of Himself. The water of our Lord is living water, intended to increase within us, producing more life, even as we drink. “The water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life” (John 4:14).

Come to Jesus and drink Jesus. His living water becomes a well within you, which makes you well within Him. His living water springs up within you, refreshing you even as He lifts you up to a greater realization of eternal life . I encourage you today to “let” yourself come to Jesus and drink. Become quenched and drenched in the abundant living waters of our Good Shepherd. Thank You Jesus! Hallelujah!
