Our Spiritual Fountain Of Youth

Today’s Word of Encouragement from Wayne:

"The righteous man will flourish like the palm tree, he will grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still yield fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap and very green"

Psalm 92: 13-14

Ministering to the Lord in God’s presence, according to this verse, is like drinking from an everlasting fountain of renewing spiritual youth and health. In the natural world, every tree eventually gets old, stops producing fruit, and dies. The truth for us as new creations, made righteous in Jesus Christ, is that as we allow our understanding of our righteousness in Christ to compel us to plant ourselves in the courts of God, as His kingdom of priests, as near to our Lord as we can be in regular joyful worship, stillness and devotion, God’s guarantee is that perpetual life will be ministered to us even as we minister to Him, our Lord of Lords.

"Thrive" is another word for "yield fruit" in this passage. I know that I thrive in the courts of my Lord. I survive in this world, fighting the good fight of the Gospel of Christ. But I thrive, I flourish, in the courts of my God. Abba Father planted me in the inner court as a minister to Him when I was but a few months old in the Lord, back in 1972.

My testimony today is that ministering to the Lord has been my most consistent, Christ-centering, joyful, thriving, flourishing, practice that I have ever been blessed to learn as a Christian. I’m not 20 years old any more, like I was when I was blessed to receive Christ. I am now 62 and being planted in the house of God is still my chief joy in the Lord. God always keeps us coming back for more! Beloved child of God, flourish with your loving Lord today, in His courts, and let him renew your youth like the eagle in His presence. Hallelujah!
