Let Your Cup Overflow

Today’s Word of Encouragement From Wayne:

"You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; my cup overflows"

Psalm 23: 5

Our cup overflows, resulting in gratitude, praise, and humility, as we behold all that God has prepared for us. The cup of "living water" within us, "springing up to life eternal" (John 4:10&14), overflows with thanksgivings to God for the table He has prepared before us and for the anointing He has given the spirit of our minds, that we should be graced to see this loving fullness of God, this beauty of our Lord. When David wrote "my cup overflows" I believe he was saying to God, "I am overwhelmed by Your goodness to me."

O praise the name of Jesus for He is so good to us. Let us receive this anointing upon our heads, to step into the presence of our God, in the inner court within us, and see this table of "sacred bread" (Hebrews 9: 2), the living bread of Jesus Christ that God has "prepared" for us. Let us eat this bread ("our daily bread" Matthew 6: 11) and drink this living water in God’s presence, with great thanksgivings, even as we minister to our Lord. The more we behold our Lord in His presence, extolling His nature and His provisions for us, the more our cup overflows.

Beloved child of God, praise your Lord as His grateful priest today, until your cup overflows. For when your cup overflows, this holy overflow reaches out with refreshment and restoration to your mind and your body. There is a holy fountain within us, activated whenever we step inside to meet with God. Yes, say to God, even as David did, "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; my cup overflows." Thank You Lord God. Hallelujah!
