O The Riches Of Taking Refuge "In The Shadow Of Your Wings"

Today's Word of Encouragement from Wayne:

"How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; and You give them to drink of the river of Your delights. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light"

Psalm 36: 7-9

Once again we see David’s reference to "the shadow of Your wings" as being descriptive of his understanding of his spiritual tabernacle of fellowship with God. When we minister to the Lord in His presence, we are taking refuge "in the shadow of Your wings." In this place, as David saw it, we drink our fill "of the abundance Your house."

When we minister to God in His presence we are in God’s house, which is within us now, and this is where we spiritually drink the living water of Jesus Christ which springs up within us to life eternal (John 4: 14). So, under "the shadow of Your wings" is where God’s house is, which is where we drink from "the river of Your delights." So, under "the shadow of Your wings" is God’s house with a river in it, of delights, for us to drink our fill from.

Also, "under the shadow of Your wings" is "the fountain of life," and our seeing all of this, in spirit and in truth, is accomplished within us by God as we draw near to minister to Him, because, "in Your light we see light." Someone could read all of this and say I don’t see any of it. We need to get ourselves under the shadow God’s wings to see all of this for it is only in His light that we see light.

David had a wonderfully, spiritually, vivid way of describing the reality of what he received from God when he was in His presence. May God give you this same vivid reality of these riches today, within you, as you "take refuge in the shadow of Your wings." Hallelujah!
