A Song Of Victory In God’s Presence

Today's Word of Encouragement from Wayne:

"And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me. And I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord"

Psalm 27:6

In verse four of this Psalm, David is in God’s presence, beholding the beauty of the Lord and meditating in His temple. In verse five David is in a "day of trouble" and experiences God’s presence as being an ark of safety, hidden away in a secret place with God, and being lifted up on a rock. Now, in verse six, this progression continues with David in God’s presence being "lifted up above my enemies" in victory, and so he is singing praises. All of these blessed truths come from the same fountain of ministering to the Lord.

Because David loved the beauty of the Lord, and spent time with God in His presence, David had learned that God’s presence is the first place to go in times of trouble; for protection, deliverance, and victory. When you and I minister to the Lord, beholding His beauty in His presence, we are similarly lifted up, so that even "in the day of trouble" we may experience victory and praise. God’s presence lifts us way above any and all "enemies around" us so that "I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of Joy."

The author of Hebrews, in the New Testament, wrote "Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name" (Hebrews 13:15). We are bearing fruit in God’s presence as our lips praise His name. God is ready to lift you up above any and all enemies around you. Minister to the Lord, behold His beauty, let Him conceal you in the secret place of His tent, and then start singing your victory song!

"I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord." Let God lift your head above your enemies, so that you may see Him. He is beautiful and He is your victory. Hallelujah!
