My Spirit Within Me Seeks You Diligently - Pt 1
Today’s Word of Encouragement from Wayne:
"We have waited for You eagerly; Your name, even Your memory, is the desire of our souls. At night my soul longs for You, indeed, my spirit within me seeks You diligently"
Isaiah 26:8-9.
"Indeed, my spirit within me seeks You diligently" - this is our blessed state of being, our normal Christian life, for all who have acquired the practice of ministering to the Lord, simply and profoundly because we are priests unto God (1st Peter 2:5-9, Revelation 1:5-6). Yes, we wait for God eagerly, from within, in His presence, in His inner court indwelling presence.
Here is where we are privileged to meet with and behold the glory of our Lord, "for God, who said, ‘light shall shine out of darkness,’ is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ" (2nd Corinthians 4:6). "In our hearts." Thank You Lord!
When we receive and come to know that the glory of God, in the face of Christ, is awaiting within our hearts, this sure is a wonderful incentive for our "spirit within" to seek God diligently. For this is where we "taste and see that the Lord is good; how blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!" (Psalm 34:8). Amen!
"In our hearts" is where we presently have this renewing "light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ." God’s glory - in Jesus’ face - in our hearts. Yes Lord, "my spirit within me seeks" and sees You diligently.
Under the old covenant, in Isaiah’s time, Christ had not yet come, and so the inner presence of God was not yet a resurrection gift made available. Now, in the new covenant of our "Lord" and "priest forever" Jesus Christ (Psalm 110:1&4, Hebrews 7:11-10:25), we have become His priesthood and have activated the privilege meeting with God in His presence. "For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, ‘I will dwell in them and walk among them’" (2nd Corinthians 6:16, Exodus 29:45).
It is as Paul explained, about "the mystery, which has been hidden from ages past and generations [under the old covenant], but has now [under the new covenant] been manifested to His saints, to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of the mystery among the gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory" (Colossians 1:26-27).
"The riches of the glory" is "Christ in you." We are privileged to seek God diligently from within and we have a whole lot more than a memory to go on, as in today’s text from Isaiah. We have the living and active presence of our Lord awaiting us within.
To many Christians, unfortunately, this all remains a "mystery." But for the priest of God, "ministering to the Lord" (Acts 13:2) has become a most blessed revelation and "reality."
We all need the true revelation of God’s glory within us, in the face of Christ, because "when Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory" (Colossians 3:4).
Receive this revelation and meet with God today. Know Him, and know yourself more truly, as you seek and see His glory in the face of Christ. He is our life. He is our light of life. He is our living water. He is within. See His light. See Jesus. Bless His holy name. Hallelujah!
